I'VE BEGUN TO WALK BACKWARDS AND LEARN CARTWHEELS

YIPPEE!!!!! IT'S OFFICIAL. I am going to cartwheel school THIS Monday in Santa Monica @ 7 AM & am so totally excited. I just confirmed it yesterday morning and got the go ahead from my gym to use some of their mats in the parking lot for my half-hour lesson. I manifested an Olympic gymnastic champion to teach me for free!!!!!
This chain of synchronistic events began as I intimated to Ryan, my trainer @ Canyon Athletics, that I wanted to brush up on my cart wheel abilities to ready for my performance after an upcoming meeting.
I tried a few unflattering attempts at a cartwheel on the beach the other day with my girlfriend on hand as an unwilling spotter. I decided that I needed to step up the training so I set the intention to attract a bonafide cartwheel coach to make my practice sessions more efficient. Plus, I'm a little tentative about falling on either one of my titanium hips. They've been great so far and I don't want to push my luck
So then Ryan reveals to me one day during our workout that his other client is a former gymnastic champion from the Tokyo Olympics. That's all I needed to hear. The next time I was at the gym at the same time as Ryan's client, I asked if he'd help me fine-tune my cart wheeling. After a few preliminary questions like, "Why do you want to do that?" and "Have you ever done one before?" and some chuckles after I told him why I was practicing, he said he'd help me before his next training session with Ryan.
The main reason I want to re-learn to do a cartwheel (did them on my front lawn as a youth) is I will be performing one in the outside hallway of the office of the meeting when we solidify our funding partner for this next BIG expansion phase for CosmiKids.
I had a recent vision where we were in a meeting with a mega-corporation. The meeting ends in a home run for us, as they agree to fully (tens of millions of dollars) fund us and supply us with all of their resources, expertise and industry connections to take our company into the stratosphere. Once we all shake hands, I leave, go out into the hallway and do a CARTWHEEL to mirror my joy, gratitude and child-like whimsy at the miracle of creation and the power of the law of attraction.
The fact that this cartwheel lesson with the-best-of-the-best of coaches has materialized in such a gloriously elegant way, that I could never have imagined, all so quickly, leads me to one & only one realization - the full knowing that the meeting, the brilliant outcome and our next exciting phase of growth and expansion for CosmiKids are imminent.
Oh, I almost forgot about the walking backwards thing. I read somewhere that in order to break out of old habit patterns and well-worn neural pathways, one should try new things, i.e. wear a t-shirt inside-out, take a different route home from work, eat with one's non-dominant hand, walk backwards, etc. I am all for breaking patterns, enhancing one's creativity and exploding out of the box, so I've begun to walk backwards. Mostly for short periods, often in my hallway at home and sometimes at CosmiKids en route to our exec meeting.

Just the other morning I finished my last assisted cartwheel lesson with my Olympic coach, Ron Barak, who not only is an Olympic champion, he's also an attorney from the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, who today told me jokingly that he was gonna call his buddy Béla Károlyi, a world-renowned Romanian gymnastics coach, of Nadia Komenichi fame, to tell him I'm ready for him.
Canyon Athletics on Entrada in Santa Monica, with a lovely view of the big, blue ocean is the IN place for all your fitness needs. Unbeknownst to them their gym sidewalk became the training ground for my two cartwheel classes. A first time for them and probably the last, as their insurance policy had no mention of gymnastic snafu coverage. I met with my revered coach in the wee hours of the morning, mats in hand, for cartwheeling 101.
With my training drawing to a close (I'll still practice on the rubber flooring @ Cosmikids in Tarzana), it's proof that our successful meeting with some big-wigs is imminent. Stay tuned for future updates in our kind, conscious & totally cosmic corporate world.
